Start with us: Come along to our apprenticeship recruitment event

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT), Kettering General Hospital,
Northampton General Hospital and Northamptonshire Local Medical Committee are holding recruitment events during March to promote the different types of apprenticeships available in the NHS.

Apprenticeships give young people and those looking to get back into work an excellent opportunity to support their local NHS trust while learning new skills and taking steps to further their career.  Positions are available across corporate services as well as supporting clinical staff, offering something for everyone.
The drop in events are for anyone wanting to find out more about the apprenticeship opportunities available in the NHS and the occupational areas covered across the local trusts. People can also register their interest for upcoming vacancies and enquire about work experience opportunities.
These events are free to attend and everyone is welcome:
Mick Lomas Personal Development and Apprenticeship Manager at NHFT said: “Many people think the NHS is just for doctors and nurses, but apprenticeships provide a great opportunity to continue with your education, while gaining professional skills and earning a wage, all at the same time.
‘Once you have completed your apprenticeship you will receive a recognised qualification in the area you studied. Within these organisations there are many successful apprentices who have gone on to gain permanent roles and continue their career in the NHS.”
Charlotte Smith, Apprentice in Project Management at NHFT said: “If you want the support and guidance to be able to enter the working world, then an NHS apprenticeship is for you.  I’m really proud to be part of such a fantastic team.

Becky Sansom, Northampton General Hospital’s Learning & Development Manager, said: “Northampton General Hospital runs an award-winning apprenticeship programme that offers opportunities right across the hospital ranging from health care and pharmacy roles right through to mechanical engineering and business admin. An apprenticeship at NGH means a year of valuable hands-on experience working alongside our experts and the opportunity to learn skills in demand across the public and private sectors.”

Rosie Sabin, current apprentice at Northampton General Hospital said: “Apprenticeships at Northampton General Hospital are a great way to step into the NHS.  You can earn while you learn and gain valuable experience. “

    1. Hi Amy. We do not offer paramedic apprenticeships due to the nature of our services here at NHFT, however we do have a number of clinical apprenticeship opportunities. If you would like further information on these, please come along to our drop-in events or find out more on our websites. Many thanks, Comms team
